We are Paul Hayden & Kirsty Dunn and we share our lives with our five beautiful Leonbergers and our son Callum in the heart of Cannock Chase, Staffordshire.
We both work full time, Paul is a Deputy Store Manager in a leading supermarket and I am a Recruitment Manager, so our lives are very busy juggling dogs, shows and homelife!
Paul's first dog was a German Shepherd called Gemma, he wrote a letter to the breeder to acquire another GSD, the breeder wrote back to tell Paul about this rare new breed called Leonberger and he should go to the Birmingham Show to have a look. That letter proved to be quite an expensive one, as we now have five Leo's!! Thanks to Sylv & Bert!! It's all your fault!
Paul has been showing and breeding Leo's for over 10 years, I was introduced to my first Leonberger in 2002 and it was love at first sight (Paul was okay too!)
Paul acquired his first Leonberger from Glenda Smith, Vannroy Killer Queen (Kleo), as you maybe aware you don't just stop at one and a few years later he was introduced to Sylbert Dazzling Diamond (Simba) from Sylvia & Bert Horton.
Kleo and Simba fell in love and produced Capauden Three Lions at Sancholees(Nanook) and she had her first litter of pups in February 2005 of which we kept Sancholees Aphrodites Rock (Kykko). On January 2007 we collected another precious little boy Sylbert Emperor Ridge at Sancholees (Zeus), since then we have further additions, you can meet them on their own pages.
We chose the breeding affix Sancholees after many heated debates, just to explain, it's an anagram of Chase Leons, as we live on the Chase and our favourite beer on holiday in Cyprus is Leon beer and also means Lion. Our first litter of puppies are named after places in Cyprus as this is our favourite holiday destination and our second litter is the Vegas litter after another great holiday!
